Design for people who have a message but not necessarily the time to explain it.

HELLO, I'M HASTIE

I'm Hastie, a graphic designer who spends a surprising amount of time turning Word documents, vague briefs and "quick little jobs" into things that people actually want to read.

Over the last few years, I've worked on everything from magazines and email campaigns to social content and print, helping organisations communicate clearly without sending people to sleep.

A BIT ABOUT ME

People often assume design is about making things look nice. It is, partly. But it's also about taking a Word document that nobody wants to open and turning it into something people actually engage with.

Over the last few years, I've worked on magazines, email campaigns, digital signage, print and digital documents, photography, videography and brand content.

I've spent a lot of time untangling complicated information, meeting impossible deadlines and pretending not to panic when someone asks for "just one tiny change" fifteen minutes before launch.

I genuinely love solving problems with design, although I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed exporting PDFs.

HOW I WORK
  1. Understand the problem
What's the message? Who's it for? What do they need to do after they've seen it?

  2. Make it simple
Strip away the noise and organise the information so it makes sense.

  3. Make it look good
Typography, imagery and layout that feel professional and on-brand.

  4. Drink coffee and make last-minute amends
An unavoidable but important part of the creative process.
